My team and I focus on the mechanisms, diagnosis, treatment, and clinical translation of hearing loss. We develop animal disease models, decipher molecular mechanisms of deafness, engineer inner ear drug delivery systems, and pioneer innovative gene therapy strategies. Our work has led to the world’s first clinical trial of gene therapy for congenital deafness and drives the establishment of international consensus. Through integrated benchtobedside research, we aim to provide curative solutions for currently untreatable hearing disorders and turn silence into sound.
