Our laboratory integrates computational and experimental genomics to elucidate the regulatory mechanisms of RNA biogenesis and translation in physiology and diseases. We develop AI algorithms and novel sequencing technologies, focusing on the multi-layered coupling network of RNA-protein metabolism and driving clinical translation. Major research directions include: developing deep learning algorithms to dissect steps of RNA metabolism; advancing ribosome profiling to investigate translational regulation in cancer and neurodegenerative diseases; exploring the evolution, functions, and regulatory mechanisms of non-canonical translation and microproteins; and combining AI with sequencing technologies to enable personalized precision medicine.
