Our long-term goal is to explore and develop novel peptide mimics to combat the escalating clinical challenges posed by drug-resistant fungal pathogens and fungal meningitis. Our research focuses on designing dual-functional peptide mimics that possess both potent antifungal activity and the ability to penetrate blood-brain barrier (BBB). Furthermore, we are developing advanced spatiotemporal co-delivery platforms designed for transporting synergistic antifungal agents to the infection site. Overall, our work aims to establish an innovative drug development framework, offering a powerful new paradigm and therapeutic pathways for highly challenging central nervous system infections.
